maybe 45 mins, but I was waking up, so the last 15 mins had the most significance


Just working on making my drawing more expressive....

As of late, ive been blending a little too much....In my opinion.....

I've been tryin to figure something out. What makes works like Wesley Burt ( I'm a huge fan) so fun to look at? I believe since he never blends and you can see the strokes, it's pleasurable for the eye. You are taken in all these different directions by the lines on paper and they form like a puzzle to create an image. I think if I can get used to making marks to imply as opposed to making them to "look like" the subject, the art will have more life. I also hope this trickles down to the way I approach painting and leads to more gestural strokes.
